The SUPMED project
Supmed is a 4 year cooperation project funded by The French Facility for Global Environment (FFEM). The project concerns two target areas: the Bekaa valley in Lebanon and the Governorate of Luxor in Egypt.
The main mission of SupMed will be to propose, to ex-ante assess and implement adaptation strategies to climate change and to socio-economic uncertainties, in close collaboration with the stakeholders on the field. These strategies will combine technical level relying on agroecology and socio-economic measures to improve the efficency of the current agricultural systems. They mainly aim to preserve water ressources already limited in the Mediterranean area.
